[Overview of the ro-ro ship “Mao Hong”]

With the total length of 169.1 meters and the total loading area of about 34,200 square meters, “Mao Hong” is a “parking lot on the sea that merits its name. Diesel-driven and equipped with a single engine and a single propeller, it is a ro-ro ship sailing in the domestic offshore navigation area, mainly used for loading wheeled vehicles such as multiple types of cars, SUVs, MPVs, trucks, and buses, as well as crawler-type construction machinery.

The vehicle cargo space holds 11 decks, of which the seventh deck is liftable and movable. Compared with other ships of the same type, “Mao Hong” features environmental friendliness and high energy efficiency. Equipped with double stern doors, high-voltage shore connection (HVSC), bow thrusters and other installations, it performs great in loading efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection, green and low carbon, and port adaptability, etc.

Installed with double stern doors, HVSC, bow thrusters and other equipment, Mao Hong plays out well in terminal adaptability, loading efficiency, energy saving and environmental protection, green and low carbon, berthing and un-berthing maneuverability, and other aspects. On both the larboard and starboard sides, the stern is mounted with a 32-meter-long three-section quarter ramp, which makes a 35-degree angle with the centerline of the hull and is used for roll-on/roll-off operations between the ship and the shore. There are also fixed or movable ramps between the vehicle decks for vehicle movement inside the ship. The ship is fitted out with one powerful ventilation system to guarantee the ventilation of cargo hold 20 times/hour when loading and unloading at port and 10 times/hour when sailing. On the top of the system fan there is a FRP ventilator room, which is light, simple and easy to maintain.
